Overview

Caloundra Private Clinic provides comprehensive mental health services, treating patients with general and acute mental health disorders.

The 46 bed private inpatient mental health unit opened on 18 November 2013, offering a range of inpatient mental health programs including:

  • anxiety and depression
  • mood disorders
  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • alcohol and prescription drug management service

We have single private room accommodation with ensuite, a comfortable lounge room and large television; laundry with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board; and tea and coffee-making facilities. The facility also has a gymnasium, art room, library and wifi access. Relaxation therapies such as walking, music and art groups are held weekly, as well as a gym program.

The cafe-style dining room offers a wide selection of nutritionally balanced meals. A dietitian assists in the development of all menus, including those for patients with special dietary needs. Visitors' meals are also available.

Patients can be referred to the Clinic following assessment by their general practitioner and will be admitted to the Clinic under the care of a consultant psychiatrist. Care will also be provided by a multidisciplinary team of specialist nursing staff, psychologists and other allied health professionals.
